Our Past
Towne Antiques & Custom Furniture has been New England's largest dealer of high-end mahogany furniture since 1970. The doors opened in the fall of that year in a landmark storefront in Brookline. The business grew to fill over 12,000 square feet on three floors of the building. In 2006, huge storefronts with big city expenses are no longer viable. The Internet has made 'virtual' showrooms a reality. The Brookline store closed in May 2006 and operations moved to rural Maine.
Our Future
We are moving to reflect the radical changes taking place in the modern antiques business. Our new "virtual showroom" website is up and continues to develop.
In spite of embracing modern technology with our website, we still accomplished significant renovations in 2006. Our shop in Parsonsfield, Maine is now a showplace for our best pieces. Take a look!
